Animation from Interactions
Animation started by a user interaction can be turned off
Allow users to disable or minimize motion and animations triggered by their interactions, based on their preferences. This helps prevent motion-induced discomfort and ensures a more comfortable experience for those sensitive to motion effects.
Acceptance Criteria
- Users can disable animations triggered by interactions unless the animation is essential for functionality or conveying information.
Examples
• Use the “reduce motion” setting to turn off parallax effects and transitions.
Exceptions
- Animations essential to functionality or information conveyance are exempt.
Tips
• Provide a settings option to reduce or disable motion effects.
• Test your content with reduced motion settings to ensure usability.
How to test?
1. Enable the “reduce motion” setting on your device or browser.
2. Interact with the content to check if animations are minimized or disabled.
3. Verify that essential animations for functionality or information are still operational.
